Robert Lewandowski provided the perfect response when asked to pick between Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola.

The Bayern Munich forward knows both managers well but first played under Klopp at Dortmund.

Klopp and Lewandowski spent four seasons together at Signal Iduna Park and won consecutive Bundesliga titles in 2011 and 2012.

Dortmund reached the Champions League final in 2013, but Klopp and Lewandowski were on the losing side as Bayern Munich ran out winners on the night.

Lewandowski eventually left BVB for Bayern in 2014 before Klopp also departed Dortmund the following season after a disappointing campaign in which BVB finished seventh in the league.

Guardiola was in charge at Bayern when the Bundesliga giants signed Lewandowski, and the Polish forward would play under the Spaniard for two seasons.

At the Allianz Arena, the duo won two Bundesliga titles.

Lewandowski was asked to pick between the two managers on CBS Sports, but was unable to separate them and replied: "Both!"

Liverpool manager Klopp has previously spoken out about Lewandowski in the press and recalled how much of a joy he was to manage.

When asked to name the best player he's ever coached, Klopp told Bild: "Robert Lewandowski. It actually won't be fair to say that about any other player except Lewy.

"What he has made out of his potential, how he pushed himself to become the player he is today, that's extraordinary."

He added: "Lewy took every step he needed to take to be that goal machine. Every one.

"He has immersed himself in the game, he just knows in every situation what he has to do, where he has to go. Lewy is an absolute machine."
